Timeless design.
A timeless design, a contemporary interpretation. The unmistakable silhouette of the 911 is characterised by its iconic flyline. It has barely changed since 1963, and has shaped the DNA of all Porsche models. Including, of course, the 911 Cabriolet and Targa models.
A clear line.
Elegant. Puristic. Unmistakable: in 1963, F. A. Porsche achieved great success with the 911 silhouette. With clear lines and the unity of form and function. Over 50 years later, the world knows many sports cars. But only one 911.
911 Carrera S
The Coupé version of the 911 embodies Porsche DNA in its purest form: the long, flat bonnet, the steeply inclined windscreen. And the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear, already characterised the original 911.
911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
The open-top variant of the 911 has always been characterised by a heightened feeling of freedom and plenty of fresh air. When closed, the Cabriolet has the elegant silhouette of the 911 Coupé models – thanks to its fully automatic fabric hood.
911 Targa 4S
The most stylish 911 model has the addition ‘targa’. With its characteristic roll-over bar and innovative roof concept, the 911 Targa is a timeless classic. And at the same time it is an open-top variant of the 911 with the comfort and safety of an enclosed car.
The exterior in detail.
A design that unites traditional and modern. That ensures more dynamism on the road. And causes a sensation for everyone who follows the 911.
Design DNA.
Typically 911: the long, flat bonnet, the steeply inclined windscreen and the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear. The wings are more clearly shaped, the rear is powerful and clearly emphasises the horizontal.
Light strip.
The seamless light strip with LED technology between the three-dimensional LED taillights characterises the appearance of all 911 models. And makes them unmistakable, even at night.
Targa bar.
An eye-catching and defining element of the 911 Targa models: the roll-over bar. It meets the highest safety requirements and has its own iconic character: with bar trims made of aluminium, lateral gills and the original ‘targa’ logo.
Wheels.
Agile and progressive: the 911 also appears particularly athletic due to the different wheel sizes at the front and rear. The up to 20/21-inch wheels offer more stability and comfort with the larger diameter on the rear axle.
Front headlights.
The shape and position of the main headlights are also reminiscent of the first 911 generations. The latest LED technology is used inside them.
Bonnet.
The bonnet with its characteristic dynamic recess profiles – and its straight slope to the front apron – is a reference to the earlier 911 models.
Door handles.
The door handles are partially recessed, allowing them to blend extremely discreetly into the car's image.
Tradition meets innovation: the interior.
Analogue precision combined with digital integration. The 911 interior combines old strengths with new possibilities and, as a sports car, is one thing above all: strictly designed for the driver.
Sports car ergonomics.
The analogue rev counter is positioned in the centre of the instrument cluster and, therefore, always in the driver’s line of sight. The ascending centre console ensures short distances between steering wheel and gear lever, and the intuitively placed switches and buttons. All for the unmistakable sensation of driving a 911.
Porsche Advanced Cockpit.
High-resolution displays, touch-sensitive buttons, as well as clearly structured functions and content. Thanks to the Porsche Advanced Cockpit control concept, the 911 interior has never been so focussed. Typical sports car: the buttons, which have been consciously kept as analogue buttons, offer direct access to essential drive and chassis functions.
Instrument cluster.
Left and right of the analogue rev counter are two high-resolution 7-inch displays with essential vehicle informationon on four round instruments. To display purely driving-related content, a reduced view can be selected.
Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
Porsche Communication Management including online navigation is your central control centre for audio, navigation and communication as well as for a variety of assistance systems. The latest generation also features a new display and operating concept.
Materials.
From the gear selector to the air outlet: every surface, every detail is carefully considered and in high quality. There is virtually no end to the combination options of available material and equipment – your personal taste is the limit.
Digital networking.
With Porsche Connect you expand the existing car functions with additional apps and services, such as Real-time Traffic Information, online voice recognition and music streaming – the 911 offers you a wealth of options for digital networking.

Built for the road that never ends.
Every 911 has the same fundamental aim: driving. As sportily as possible. That’s why the twin-turbo horizontally opposed engine, the transmission, the chassis, the brakes and all the control systems are designed for one thing: the highest performance.
- Powerful twin-turbo six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine in the rear
- High-precision Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission
- Systems for increasing the driving dynamic
Models
4
The ‘4’ in the Porsche model designation represents the four driven wheels in all-wheel drive models.
S
At Porsche, the ‘S’ has always stood for ‘sport’ and enhanced performance. For the 911, this means increased engine output, as well as large brakes and wheels.
4S
The combination of all-wheel drive and increased performance characterises the Porsche ‘4S’ models.
Engine
Twin-turbo six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine.
The engine of the 911 models has a twin-turbo configuration. Its stand-out qualities: exceptional power across the speed range, extraordinarily direct responsiveness and a wide torque plateau, even at low speeds. The horizontally opposed construction, with its short length, low height and position in the vehicle rear allows for a low centre of gravity. The engine mounts near the centre of the car ensure greater stability and fewer vibrations.
Turbochargers.
The engines have two turbochargers and charge-air cooling. It’s an important element of the exhaust turbocharging and greatly contributes to simultaneously increasing performance and reducing emissions.
Transmission.
8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
The 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) enables incredibly swift gear changes without interrupting the flow of power – in milliseconds. PDK combines a very sporty tuning in first to sixth gear with efficient overdrive ratios (seventh and eighth gear).
7-speed manual transmission.
The 7-speed manual transmission ensures an extremely direct link between driver and car: thanks to short distances with optimum connection between the individual gears. In conjunction with the Sport Chrono Package, the dynamic throttle-blip function in active Sport or Sport Plus mode ensures an even more emotional driving experience and sensational sound.
Porsche Traction Management (PTM).
All-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) optimally distributes drive force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. For excellent drive and an incredibly harmonious handling right at the limits.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus).
PTV Plus is a system intended to improve driving dynamics and stability. It works with a precise application of the brakes on the rear wheels and a rear differential lock. For increased stability, outstanding traction and high agility at any speed.
Chassis

Chassis systems.
More – of everything. The chassis systems optimise the vehicle features of the 911 and make it even faster, more agile and more comfortable.
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
PASM is an electronic damping control system that actively and continuously controls the damping force, depending on the road conditions and driving mode, for each individual wheel. For more comfort with increased dynamics.
PASM sports suspension.
With PASM sports suspension, the body is lowered a further 10mm in relation to the PASM chassis. The springs are harder and shorter, the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles are stiffer. The spring rates have been significantly raised, giving the 911 a more neutral and balanced presence on the road.
Porsche Stability Management (PSM).
Porsche Stability Management (PSM) is an automatic control system for maintaining stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance. For a high level of driving stability and safety – and extraordinary agility at the same time. In conjunction with the Sport Chrono Package, PSM is supplemented by a Sport mode. This allows a significantly more sporty driving style, with PSM remaining active in the background.
Rear-axle steering.
Rear-axle steering enhances performance and suitability for everyday use in equal measure; by improving the handling during low-speed manoeuvres and making manoeuvres and turns easier. At the same time, the rear-axle steering gives significantly more driving stability during high-speed manoeuvres.
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).
PDCC is an active roll stabilisation system. It suppresses lateral body movement when cornering dynamically. For improved dynamic performance, even more neutral handling and increased ride comfort – whatever the speed.
Sport Chrono Package.
Adrenaline at the push of a button: the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tyre temperature display. Its functions enable an even sportier tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission.
Mode switch and SPORT Response button.
The mode switch allows you to select different driving styles, e.g. increase the driving dynamics, save your personal preferences or aid driving on wet roads. The SPORT Response button prepares the engine and transmission for a fast unleashing of power for approx. 20 seconds of maximum responsiveness.
Launch Control and motorsport-derived gearshift strategy.
The Launch Control function, with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) in the SPORT PLUS mode enables the best possible standing start. With the motorsport-derived gearshift strategy, PDK is geared up for extremely short shift times and optimum shift points for maximum acceleration.
Dynamic engine mounts.
This electronically regulated system minimises perceptible oscillations and the vibration of the entire drivetrain, in particular the engine, so that the benefits of a hard and a soft engine mounting arrangement can be used. In short: it enhances both driving stability and driving comfort.
Porsche Track Precision app.*
With the Porsche Track Precision app as part of the Sport Chrono Package you can very easily measure lap times and driving data – using your smartphone. To save, share or compare with other drivers.
* App usage permitted on closed land only. Operation of this product (including the video recording feature in particular) could be prohibited by laws or regulations in specific markets or events. Before any use of this product, please check that this is permitted under local laws and regulations.
Brakes.
The brakes are matched to the high performance of the 911 models. In the 911 Carrera models, four-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers grip 330mm brake discs. In the Carrera S models, the front axle is equipped with six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers at the front and four-piston equivalents at the rear. The brake disc diameter is adapted to the increased power output, 350mm at the front and rear.
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB).
Lighter, more stable, motorsport proven: the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) provides even greater braking performance thanks to ceramic brake discs with 410mm diameter at the front axle and 390mm at the rear axle. Another advantage: thanks to the extremely low weight of the brake discs, the traction and the comfort is significantly improved. The six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers at the front, and four-piston units at the rear provide braking forces that are considerably more powerful and, crucially, are exceptionally consistent.

* Comfort Access uses state-of-the-art technology. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that the key´s wireless encryption code is intercepted and used to open or steal the vehicle.
Roof systems.
Cabriolet hood.
The Cabriolet models also have the classic 911 silhouette. They are equipped with a fully automatic fabric hood. The roof can be opened and closed in approx. 12 seconds. Up to a speed of 50km/h. It has a fixed glass rear screen and three integral magnesium elements that make it highly robust and yet particularly lightweight.
Targa roof system.
The Targa roof concept embodies the ideal combination of safety, comfort and design. When standing, the completely automatic roof system of the 911 Targa models opens and closes in just 19 seconds. The heatable rear screen made from weight optimised, composite safety glass and the sound-insulating roof lining ensure amazingly low driving noise when the car is closed.
Slide/tilt sunroof.
The electrically adjustable slide/tilt sunroof, available for the Coupé models, creates even more space in your 911. A large area opens to the outside so that headroom is not restricted. The electric slide/tilt sunroof made of tinted toughened safety glass expands the sense of space, even when closed.
Light systems.
Light systems.
The main headlights and taillights of 911 models are fitted with cutting edge LED technology. For fast responsiveness and powerful illumination. An unusual feature of all 911 models: the four-point daytime running lights and dipped beam, and the seamless light strip at the rear.
LED main headlights with matrix beam including PDLS Plus.
The LED headlights with matrix beam technology deactivate specific segments of the permanent main-beam cone so as not to blind oncoming traffic or cars in front of you. The areas in between and next to them are fully illuminated. The electronic cornering lights illuminate the curves optimally by switching individual LEDs on or off.

Assistance systems
Read more
Your surroundings at a glance.
A rare luxury these days: being able to concentrate exclusively on what's directly in front of you. The open road. Or the next corner. The 911 provides you with support in the form of multiple assistance systems which allow you to remain truly in the moment.
Porsche InnoDrive including adaptive cruise control.*
Thanks to high-precision navigation data, Porsche InnoDrive identifies speed limits and road gradients such as slopes or curve radii on your route, before you reach them. And adapts the gear change strategy and speed. For intelligent driving and a clear efficiency advantage.
* The assistance provided by Porsche InnoDrive is subject to system limitations. The driver must monitor driving style at all times and intervene in cases of doubt. The system can be overridden at any time by use of the brake or accelerator pedal.
Adaptive cruise control.
The system adapts the speed of your 911 depending on the distance to vehicle in front of you. If you approach another vehicle that is travelling slower than your selected cruising speed, the system slows the engine or gently applies the brakes. Even down to a halt. As soon as the road ahead clears, your 911 will accelerate back up to the cruising speed originally set.
Lane Keeping Assist including traffic sign recognition.
Lane Keeping Assist eases the burden on you by providing steering assistance, helping to keep the vehicle in lane. Traffic sign recognition displays speed limits, ‘no overtaking’ zones and indirect information, such as boundary signs, in the instrument cluster. The cornering notification displays an arrowed direction warning on the instrument cluster, alerting you to tight corners. Long before you reach them.
Night Vision Assist.
Night Vision Assist uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians and large wildlife before they are illuminated by the headlights. A thermal image in the instrument cluster warns the driver.
Porsche Wet-Mode.*
With ‘Wet’ mode, the 911 uses an innovative system that aids you when driving in the wet. If the sensors in the front wheel housing detect wet roads, the system will recommend switching to ‘Wet mode’. The chassis control systems and the responsiveness of the drivetrain will then be adapted to the circumstances.
* The ‘Wet’ driving programme is not a substitute for adopting an appropriate driving manner in different road and weather conditions, and is, at the most, an aid for the driver.
Remote ParkAssist.
Remote ParkAssist combines a number of intelligent functions, such as remote parking. It makes it easier to enter and exit parallel and perpendicular parking spaces, as well as garages, using your smartphone. This Active Parking Assistance automatically detects parking spots and independently steers the vehicle backwards and forwards – supervised by the driver.
